MELAKA TRIP

april 8th '06, five of us (me, joanne, yvonne, william & steven) went to melaka for a two days one nite trip. at 7.30am, the guys start to pick up yvonne, me then joanne. and at 8.30am, we had "dim sum" breakfast at sri petaling...

about 10.30am, we arrived at the melaka town where we spent about an hour near the a' famosa historical place... i last visited melaka about 5 years ago & everything still looks the same to me... i mean, not much chages at this town actually....

before long at about 11.30am, all five of us were hungry. so, where else did we headed to if not the famous CHUNG WAH chicken rice ball(opposite the OCBC building).... averagely, we had 5 rice balls per person.. the meal cost about RM 25 for five person...

then we stroll along the JONKERS STREET and bought some souvenirs... at about 1.00pm, we were looking for food again! this time, we had "ais kacang" and tarts(portugese, durian cheese & mango cheese flavours)... the tarts are delicious especially the mango one....

after that, we checked in at Century Mahkota Hotel... our two bedrooms apartment are quite comfortable & spacious... we played rounds of cards till evening when our dear friend, Danette(who were back in Malacca for Qing Ming) joined us for dinner...

she brought us to one of the famous "satay celup" restaurants... forgot the name of the place liao... the place was crowded... luckily we were there early at about 6.30pm.... guess what?... all six of us ate a minimum of 20 sticks of satay celup... it was a satisfying meal....

after dinner, we went back to JONKERS WALK for the nite market... so many stalls there and not forgetting to mention the many many delicious food stalls there... sigh.. we were just too full... so, we only shared a plate of fried oysters... william & danette had "ais kacang" as well... me & jo tried the bubble pearl tea too... but it sucks!

we also bought some tarts & local delicacies from the stalls & shops there..... one of the shop, LW Nyonya Pineapple Tarts House was awarded malaysia book of records for baking the biggest pineapple tart in malaysia...

we ended the day afer we went for a drink at GreenWorld cafe... the place where yvonne's bf was working...

woke up at 8.00am the next day... we had buffet breakfast at the hotel.... then william drive us around malacca town before we checked out... but before that, we shopped at Tan Kim Hock to buy some "cencaluk", "dodol", sweets etc....

for lunch, we had nyonya food at the famous Ole' Sayang restaurant... we orders assam fish head, dry chicken curry, fried brinjal, ole's sayang tauhu and "otak-otak".... the food was superb...!

finally, about 1pm, we drove back to KL.... this trip is very memorable to me... coz it was the first time that i ate so much in one day! by the end of the day, i look like three months pregnant! hehehe.... looking forward to the next "eating" trip with them again...

we started the journey with food("dim sum")... we had food all along the way(chicken rice ball. "ais kacang", tarts, satay celup etc...)... and we ended the trip with food(nyonya food)!

i finally found someone

i found this website which has the lyrics for the song I Finally Found Someone plus a midi file to listen to(put on the speaker ya)...

http://www.jennifer-too.com/tides/mirrorsong.html

well, why this song huh? coz it was my wedding song played when hubby & i entered our dining hall at oriental pearl restaurant, bukit kiara equesterian club... how time flies... i've been married for 6 months now!

besides that, our short slide presentation song was: I knew I Loved You Before I Met You...
found another link which has the lyrics + a sample of the music...

http://www.geocities.com/Nashville/Ranch/1166/ikilybimy.htm

both of this songs meant so much to me & hubby...

it reminds us of our sweet memory... our wedding day, oct 2nd '05..

full moon for bb chung wei

april 1st '06 - my little nephew celebrated his full moon at his paternal grandparents house at SS18, subang... here are a couple of the pictures taken for your viewing..

* he was still asleep when we first arrived.. pic here with his mum(my sis-in-law) *

* he was smiling when i took this pic. lucky me!... ain't he handsome??? *

jelly jelly jelly....

my dear hubby loves jelly.... especially konnyaku jelly... so, since we got married, i hv been perfecting my skills to make the best jelly in town!... hehehe.... i know it's not a tough task but thinking back to the first time that i actually tried making jelly, it's not an easy one!

coz instead of jelly, it turn out more like a pudding(the watery version of jelly actually)....but anyhow, hubby & my mum-in-law just love it becoz i used SUNKIST as flavour, it was very very SOUR! and just one bite will make your eyes open WIDE! hehehe....

after few months of making jelly, three main conclusions that i have:

i) do not over consume as it is very high in sugar... absolutely a no no for diabetics ppl....

ii) water measuring while making jelly is very important as it is the deciding factor whether your jelly will turn out to be perfect/watery....

iii) my hubby, family , colleagues & friends love it so much that i am thinking of revolutionizing this art of making jelly in the coming future... perhaps to combine jelly with other desserts? also to experiment it with different type of flavours beside the usual SUNKIST & RIBENA flavour..

hmmm... just let us wait & see... i'll definitely update you guys ya!

THREE MINUTES MANAGEMENT COURSE

Wanna share this valueable management tips with all of you.

Read this. It's so funny.

Lesson One: An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing?" The eagle answered: "Sure, why not." So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Management Lesson: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson Two: A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy." "Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull. " They're packed with nutrients." The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree. He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Management Lesson: Bullsh*t might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

Lesson Three: A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold, the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He laid there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Management Lesson:

(1) Not everyone who sh*ts on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of sh*t is your friend..
(3) And when you're in deep sh*t, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

This ends the three minute management course. Hahaha...

WORKING ATTITUDE

it's month end now... as usual, my working place is really really BUSY..... not to mention the monthly sales target for my meter reading section..... nope..... my salary is not commission based but yet there's still a certain sales target to be reached every month....... averagely, it's RM 1.2 million per month! to those who work with me, they will understand what is this monthly million dollar sales target actually means...

i must say that it's not easy to reach this target without the cooperation from various parties namely my section members including my temp staffs, svc coordinators, svc man etc.... i love working with them... they are a helpful bunch...! THANKS GUYS!!!

but still, there's this special "ONE" whom we hope that she can change her WORKING ATTITUDE as soon as possible!

lately things just don't go smoothly... how many of you encounter problems working with certain colleagues? i am sure there's many of you who face this problems...

we have no choice but to continue working with her since who are we to replace her rite? i do not want to mention names but i just feel frustated especially during this month end days... why can't she just do according to her job function??? why can't she shoulder her responsibilty the way it should be? in short, WHY CAN'T SHE JUST DO HER WORK PROPERLY??? simple isn't it?

i really hate those who don't do their job completely and u know what? when things go wrong, this "problem" person will put blame on ppl who happens to be helping her... this "problem" one actually think that other ppl owe her in doing her job from point A-Z... don't they realised that it is her responsibilty to make sure things are done & completed efficiently? NO! they don't care if things work out...

i don't know oh.... i not sure oh.... need to do one meh? my mentor never teach me one(even though she was fully trained & with notes pasted at her working desk)....
so many 1001 excuses given when you need answer to the problem cases which actually is her responsibility.... what kind of WORKING ATTITUDE is this?

sigh... you might say it's not a big deal working with this attitude problem ppl... but in long term... me(and my other fellow colleagues) might have health related problems... wrinkles especially... or high blood pressure... and if worse still, maybe heart attack... ooops... a bit exaggerated huh.....?

dinner with hubby

took half day leave today to settle some banking transactions... right after lunch, i left office for the bank... when i arrived at 2.00pm at the bank, I hv the waiting no. 1512 and the current number was no. 1475... means another 40 ppl b4 my turn...

what will you do if you are in my situation? to wait there or not to wait huh? i hv no choice but to wait since i oledi took half day leave & i must settle my car loan, buy bankers' cheque for my new house MOT, get my ATM card replacement(yup! i misplaced it & i still believe that the old ATM card is still laying somewhere in my house... hehehe) and oso to apply for internet banking (hopefully it will ease my banking transactions without needing to take half day leave to settle banking matters)

right after banking(which eventually lasted till 3.00pm!), i went to "pasar borong" to buy some ingredients to cook dinner for hubby... reason: my dad-in-law sent my mum-in-law to a wedding dinner at KL(hmm... wedding dinner on a FRIDAY... very special indeed but it will definitely cause much trouble to the working group of ppl)...

so, i managed to buy salmon steak (after visiting the 2nd "pasar borong"), mushrooms & brocolli all in less than 10 minutes since i oledi had the rest of the ingredients at home namely spaghetti, pasta sauce & crab stick...

gave my mum a short call to find out how to cook the salmon steak... as my mum said : "just slowly grill it on a non-stick pan without using any oil or salt or pepper"... sounds easy huh?

well, i started cooking... actually more of cutting & preparing the ingredients at around 5.30pm... mum-in-law help me to clean up the brocolli... hehehe... u know-lah... i am not the "cooking" type of person...

after one hour, i hv almost finish half of the cooking(fried some potatoes, boiled the brocolli, prepare the pasta sauce etc...)... but hubby worked OT lor... so, by the time hubby arrived back from work it's 8pm liao... dinner is served when i finally finish grilling the salmon steak... this is the first time that hubby & i hv dinner at home just by the two of us & eating my home cooked dinner... hehehe

after a few couple of hours preparing, cooking & washing the dishes, one conclusion is : it feels good to cook for your love ones... no matter how much time you spend preparing the meal, it's worth it!

bb Joo Yee

4th march '06 - updated pics of 7 week old bb Joo Yee

my nephew

visited bb nephew at his home... this three day old bb is not easy to take care of... i mean all babies are not easy to be taken care of... you won't know when or why they cry... especially when they cry aloud, all you wish is that they can just "shut up" and sleep... so mean of me huh?

well, of course it's a challenge to take care a new born baby... wait till they grow up and start to run here and there... you will have more headaches as you are afraid that they might hurt themselves....

sigh... it's not easy to be a parent... especially to become first time parents...

* he was asleep when we first arrive *

* then he started to wake up *

* after that, he cried aloud for no reason *

* tried giving him the pacifier*

* the exact reason he cried : HUNGRY "

* change to this feeding bottle since he can suck better *

* by the way, that feeding bottle was once used by his uncle(my dear hubby) on our wedding day, oct 2nd, 2005... hehehe... *

*march 1st, 2006 at 9.23am*

my sis-in-law Siew Fong gave birth to my first nephew Khoo Chung Wei at Sunway Medical Centre... weighing at 3.37kg....he's one cute little boy...

my dear hubby & i automatically be promoted to uncle("kau fu") & auntie("kam moe") status... hehehe...

and my parents-in-law become "grandfather" & "grandmother"... seems like everyone from my hubby's extended family get promoted to another level as well...

gosh... from the moment i woke up, love was in the air... for the first time, hubby & i celebrated valentine's together as husband & wife... well, what the difference huh??? i would say that it's pretty much the same except that we are both more mature now(or maybe a bit "old") to celebrate this special day...

did not buy any special gift for hubby this year except a cushion seat for his pc chair and it was a last minute unwrapped gift... hehehe...

hubby was late to pick me up after work, so joanne B & i went to subang parade for jalan2 where i get to buy that cushion seat... after that, i accompanied her to uncle Lim kopitiam for dinner where i had the yummy roti kaya + half boiled egg + soya bean and joanne had the uncle Lim "laksa"...

for this valentine, hubby treated me for two meals actually!... one on the actual valentine's day where we dine at the Salmon Steak House(though i had earlier ate at uncle Lim) and the second meal on feb 18th, saturday, we had japanese buffet at the Shogun, One U...

hmmm... one wish i have for this valentine this year is that may all my "single" friends meet their Ms / Mr Right this year...
