had a short but nice trip to singapore... 21/07/07 till 23/07/07... took some nice pics(mostly food).....

DAY 1- reach s'pore, bugis junction & chinatown

** the 8.00am Aeroline bus which we boarded from Menara Axis, PJ ** per person one way fare is RM 80.00 + 3% administration charge ** the fare comes with a light meal + hot drink + dessert is served too **

** the interior is quite spacious, comfy and each seats come with a cute small yellow pillow **

** the place we stayed in singapore, my grandma's HDB flat at Queenstown **

** from Bugis Junction, this is the TakoPochi which I have been craving for **

** the packaging has improved a lot , priced at S$ 2.20 for three pieces(in one box)**

** and this is the irresistible blended "durian" shake with pearl- priced at S$ 3.20 per cup **

** didn't know they had a food fair too at Bugis Junction until we arrived **

** my fav tong sui in singapore, "tong yuen" glutinious ball in peanut soup- S$ 1.50 for four pieces(diff flavor, can choose peanut, red bean, yam, black sesame, red bean or green tea)

DAY 2- takashimaya, orchard road

** my fav shopping place in singapore, TAKASHIMAYA at Ngee Ann City... not for clothes but for food **

** been a long time since i ate at MOS burger and now after coming back to m'sia, i'm craving for it(anyone got idea if there is any MOS burger restaurant in KL?) **

** for lunch, seafood clam chowder soup- S$ 2.20 per cup **
** hubby's order, yakiniku rice burger(beef)- S$ 3.75 per burger
** my order, ebi rice burger(prawn)- S$ 3.75 per burger ** YUMMY!
** dessert, frozen strawberries- S$ 1.60 for 3 pieces(min order) **
** it's so delicious coz it's frozen with vanilla ice-cream too **
** for tea-time, Beard Papa **
** bought two pieces (no need to fight for it, mah! hehehe) **
** my preferred flavour, cream puff in strawberry cream( i think they haven't promote this flavour yet in m'sia)- S$ 2.30 per piece **

** cream puff in vanilla cream- S$ 2.00 per piece **** found this cute little CHILLI CRAB(bread stuffed with crab meat in chilli) at one of the BreadTalk bakery at Plaza Singapura ** how can I not buy it when it is so CUTE and it tasted so yummy??? - S$ 1.50 per piece **
** for dinner, my aunt and mummy recommended this AJISEN RAMEN which had many outlets in singaore, japan, bangkok etc... but not in m'sia yet.. TOO BAD **
gosh! i'm feeling hungry now after looking at this pic again ** it's the SALMON bento set which comes with a miso soup- S$ 10.00 per box **

** and each time i'm in singapore, this is another of my fav bottled drink, Water Chestnut & Sugar Cane drink - S$ 1.50 per bottle **

DAY 3- early morning went grocery shopping with mummy, then time to go home

** the waiting lounge at the travel agent, Transtar, it's comfy, got TV to watch and free unlimited hot drinks **

** journey started at 3.30pm... hubby watched so many channels while on the way back to KL & I onli know how to sleep **
** this bus is comfy too... comes with multi movie channel on board and massage chair + light meal + hot drink ** S$ 47.00 per person for one way fare **

summary:

--> did not buy any clothes... many discounts available but can't find any that i like... maybe will grab something when the next sales is on again at singapore..

--> but one thing for sure, i am missing MOS burger now and my TakoPochi and my blended "durian" shake with pearl.. i guess i jsut have to go to bed now and dream about all those lovely food that i had last weekend

july 14th '07

had a great saturday night out with my "ji mui"... long time didn't hang out with them... an earlier plan of a potluck dinner at my house was then changed to a dinner at the Curve..... so lazy of us.... hehehe... actually more of, so lazy of ME........ no need to cook or clean up mah.....

we didn't really decided where to eat earlier..... Joanne, Kar-Yee and I were the first three to arrive at the Curve... so, what we did was we browsed through the many eateries there & decided to try out this outlet, TonChan.... it's supposed to be a japanese restaurant.....

hmmmm.... but they don't serve much sushi.... Senn & gf, Linda, William Loo & gf, Sophia then later joined us..... i had the tempura bento set(as usual).... and the ramen that the others have is not that good(according to them) coz both Joanne & Kar-Yee didn't finish eating it.....
after dinner, we joined senn's frens at OneU for two games of bowling... we left the Curve at about 10.10pm and reached OneU at 11.00pm... ya.... onli a few km away but took us almost one hour to reach there becoz of some stupid traffic lights and some cars/taxis parking at the road side near Tesco there...

hmmm... i have improve slightly on my bowling skills..... just slightly onli...... i am pretty impressed though with Sophia coz she can really bowls......

by the time we finished bowling, it was almost 1.00am... it's been a long time since i go out until so late(as in after getting married)....... but we had a great nite... would definitely look forward to another round of makan2 and bowling session with them.....

just see how much my nephew have grown up.... he is so active... cannot sit still.... really... he's always up and running around (just started to take a few steps on his own)....

yup.. this is a backdated post... hubby & i took leave to run some errands.... renew car road tax/ license, went to EPF, went to bank, watch the movie, Transformers at MidValley... had lunch and dinner there.....

i can't resist from blogging about the yummylicious assam laksa and nasi lemak "rendang ayam" at Jaya Jusco, MidValley....

overall outing, the movie and meals are great! it feels so nice to take leave once a while for a day out with hubby...

singapore, here we come...

yup! my mummy, my hubby & I will be heading to singapore tomorrow morning for a short holiday... just 3 days and 2 nights..... to visit my grandma..... and dear hubby definitely deserve a break from his hectic work schedule.......

what else? it is also the last weekend for the great singapore sale.. i wouldn't say that i will shop a lot.... but definitely each time i'm in singapore, i will not miss visiting Takashimaya at Ngee Ann City for the great food court which offers so much variety of japanese snacks.....

my fav being is the famous TakoPochi (dunno how to describe this snack, it's made from flour and as big as a golf ball) prices at S$ 2.20 for three pieces (normally i choose to have the octopus one)......

well, this snack can be found at our own shore too... namely Mid Valley, Sungei Wang, Mines City etc..... but the taste and texture is very much different(bad) from the one that I can get from singapore(at any outlet there, the TakoPochi standard is the same).... it is just not the same... really!

and not forgetting the blended "durian" shake with pearl which can be found at Bugis Junction... it's like drinking the "durian" juice..... too bad that dear hubby do not eat "durian" at all... he just hate the the smell... and i wonder why??? hehehehe

just by mentioning TakoPochi and the blended "durian" shake can make my day!

I signed up for PPP!

Have you heard of this “get paid for blogging”? well, I came across this blog marketing from one of the many blogs that I read daily on the internet. Actually, i found out there is more than one bloggers who blogs frequently and yes, they got paid! And when I said got paid, means they really receive a cheque for their hardwork. It’s worth it(according to them- lah)…

Well, I never believe that one day, I myself will be doing a post and get paid for it(though I yet to earn any income yet from blogging, I am still interested to give it a try)

this special date holds a lot of special meaning to a lot of ppl coz on this day, many people got married( including some of my frens, CONGRATS ya!)....... triple 7...... what an easy date to remember... and meaningful too coz it happens once in a thousand year???

the number 7 has alwiz been my favourite number...... and it's my lucky number too.....

before i got married, i stayed at my parents home with the address No. 17.... and now my new home is No. 7..... when i first make booking for my new home, i do not know the house address until we receive the keys to our new home.... what a coincidence as it turned out.........

working shift

i have alwiz wonder how it feels like working shift.... well, not that i am working shift now but it's my dear hubby..... dunno about what production line needs engineer suport when they work at nite/ midnite...... dunno-lah.... just don't understand coz all this while hubby are not required to work shift......

for the 1st week, he & a few of his colleagues have been working 7.00am to 7.00pm(of course he did not leave his workplace so punctual but actually reach home onli about 9.30pm)........

and for this 2nd week(which by the way, today is his last day for working shift), he works from 7.00pm to 7.00am(and when he works this shift, he leaves his workplace punctually becoz he is already half sleepy).....

i mean, can you work the graveyard(midnite) shift? i definitely cannot. definitely NO!

reason:
- i sleep quite early(10.30pm averagely on weekdays but I can sleep at 9.00pm if i want to... hehehe)

- i will not be able to live normally as in watching TV, surfing net coz if work midnite shift means whole afternoon will be spent sleeping, then wake up for early dinner, bath & go to work... see-lah.... where got time for all this luxury???

- i will miss my dear hubby a lot.... for the 1st week(morning shift), hubby leaves for work before i wake up..... and reach home late which is almost my sleeping time..... and for this 2nd week(nite shift), i rush home on Monday, Wednesday & Friday to catch my hubby before he leaves for work at 6.15pm... means i left my workplace on the dot at 5.20pm and reach home about 5.45pm to chat with him for a while and catch up a little bit on our daily life.... ya...... the precious half an hour or less.....

i really salute those who can rotate working shift either morning shift, afternoon shift and nite shift.... i guess it takes time to adjust to this lifestyle...

i hope this will be the last day that my dear hubby got to work shift...... sigh.....

seafood lunch

last sunday, hubby and i went for seafood lunch at kuala selangor(KS) with a group of our close frens... KS is just a 30 minutes drive from our home in Setia Alam...

this time we try out this new place... normally we eat at restoran sungai yu but this time, we headed to kedai makanan laut hai ung (just a few doors away from restoran sungai yu)...

* this place is much bigger than restoran sungai yu *

* the view we had... not bad *

* belacan kangkung, ordered by mr yeoh *

* seafood soup with generous serving of crab meat *
* looks and taste like sharksfin soup *
* "kam heong" lala *

* "har kou", prawn mantis coated with salted egg yolk *

* "oh chien", fried oyster with egg *

* buttered "sotong", which i find it too dry & no butter taste at all*

* fried fish in soya sauce *

in conclusion, i still prefer the food at restoran sungai yu but this place offer a better place for chit-chatting after a sumptious lunch as it is more spacious... and airy....

thai Tub-tim Grob(thai dessert- rubies in coconut milk )

almost one year ago, i mentioned about this thai dessert in my blog and i can't believe that i actually took the trouble to try out this recipe which i found on the net.......

last saturday after my half day work, i dropped by at Giant to buy the "nangka" fruit and a few small packs of the coconut milk... much much earlier i have prepared the other ingredients... just waiting for the correct timing & "mood" to try out this recipe.....

and yes, this dessert is one of my favourite!!!

ingredients: One can of peeled water chestnut – can buy this from Giant
Tapioca flour
Red food coloring
Rose flavoring
Nangka
Coconut milk – chill it in the fridge first
Sugar
water

steps:(as according to my way, almost similar to the internet recipe)

- diced the water chestnut and placed the diced water chestnut into a big bowl
- put about five drops of the red coloring into the diced water chestnut followed by three drops of the rose flavoring. mix it well until the all the diced chestnut turn to red color
- pour in enough of the tapioca flour into the bowl of red color diced chestnuts until all of it are coated with the tapioca flour - sieve the coated chestnut so that it will be evenly coated

- for bigger "rubies", repeat with coating the chesnut with a few more layers of flour by sprinkling some water each time before re-coating it with the tapioca flour.....
- once done, boil a pot of water. when the water comes to boil, put in the chestnut and let it boil until all of it cooked(it will float when it's cooked)
- then transfer the cooked "rubies"(chestnut) into a big bowl of iced water (this will make the "rubies" look better by turning transparent, just like magic coz when the "rubies" are boiling in the pot, it looks much uglier). later pour away the iced water and leave it aside(or in the fridge)
- after that, to prepare some syrup, just mix some sugar with water and boil it(quantity of sugar + water depends on your taste, as for me i put in 5 tablespoons of sugar with 300ml water)

to serve this dessert,
pour some coconut milk into a bowl, add in some syrup, then add in the "rubies" plus the nangka. serve chilled(you can add in either some crushed iced or ice cubes)...
