THREE MINUTES MANAGEMENT COURSE

Wanna share this valueable management tips with all of you.

Read this. It's so funny.

Lesson One: An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing?" The eagle answered: "Sure, why not." So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Management Lesson: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson Two: A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy." "Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull. " They're packed with nutrients." The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree. He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Management Lesson: Bullsh*t might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

Lesson Three: A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold, the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He laid there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Management Lesson:

(1) Not everyone who sh*ts on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of sh*t is your friend..
(3) And when you're in deep sh*t, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

This ends the three minute management course. Hahaha...

WORKING ATTITUDE

it's month end now... as usual, my working place is really really BUSY..... not to mention the monthly sales target for my meter reading section..... nope..... my salary is not commission based but yet there's still a certain sales target to be reached every month....... averagely, it's RM 1.2 million per month! to those who work with me, they will understand what is this monthly million dollar sales target actually means...

i must say that it's not easy to reach this target without the cooperation from various parties namely my section members including my temp staffs, svc coordinators, svc man etc.... i love working with them... they are a helpful bunch...! THANKS GUYS!!!

but still, there's this special "ONE" whom we hope that she can change her WORKING ATTITUDE as soon as possible!

lately things just don't go smoothly... how many of you encounter problems working with certain colleagues? i am sure there's many of you who face this problems...

we have no choice but to continue working with her since who are we to replace her rite? i do not want to mention names but i just feel frustated especially during this month end days... why can't she just do according to her job function??? why can't she shoulder her responsibilty the way it should be? in short, WHY CAN'T SHE JUST DO HER WORK PROPERLY??? simple isn't it?

i really hate those who don't do their job completely and u know what? when things go wrong, this "problem" person will put blame on ppl who happens to be helping her... this "problem" one actually think that other ppl owe her in doing her job from point A-Z... don't they realised that it is her responsibilty to make sure things are done & completed efficiently? NO! they don't care if things work out...

i don't know oh.... i not sure oh.... need to do one meh? my mentor never teach me one(even though she was fully trained & with notes pasted at her working desk)....
so many 1001 excuses given when you need answer to the problem cases which actually is her responsibility.... what kind of WORKING ATTITUDE is this?

sigh... you might say it's not a big deal working with this attitude problem ppl... but in long term... me(and my other fellow colleagues) might have health related problems... wrinkles especially... or high blood pressure... and if worse still, maybe heart attack... ooops... a bit exaggerated huh.....?

dinner with hubby

took half day leave today to settle some banking transactions... right after lunch, i left office for the bank... when i arrived at 2.00pm at the bank, I hv the waiting no. 1512 and the current number was no. 1475... means another 40 ppl b4 my turn...

what will you do if you are in my situation? to wait there or not to wait huh? i hv no choice but to wait since i oledi took half day leave & i must settle my car loan, buy bankers' cheque for my new house MOT, get my ATM card replacement(yup! i misplaced it & i still believe that the old ATM card is still laying somewhere in my house... hehehe) and oso to apply for internet banking (hopefully it will ease my banking transactions without needing to take half day leave to settle banking matters)

right after banking(which eventually lasted till 3.00pm!), i went to "pasar borong" to buy some ingredients to cook dinner for hubby... reason: my dad-in-law sent my mum-in-law to a wedding dinner at KL(hmm... wedding dinner on a FRIDAY... very special indeed but it will definitely cause much trouble to the working group of ppl)...

so, i managed to buy salmon steak (after visiting the 2nd "pasar borong"), mushrooms & brocolli all in less than 10 minutes since i oledi had the rest of the ingredients at home namely spaghetti, pasta sauce & crab stick...

gave my mum a short call to find out how to cook the salmon steak... as my mum said : "just slowly grill it on a non-stick pan without using any oil or salt or pepper"... sounds easy huh?

well, i started cooking... actually more of cutting & preparing the ingredients at around 5.30pm... mum-in-law help me to clean up the brocolli... hehehe... u know-lah... i am not the "cooking" type of person...

after one hour, i hv almost finish half of the cooking(fried some potatoes, boiled the brocolli, prepare the pasta sauce etc...)... but hubby worked OT lor... so, by the time hubby arrived back from work it's 8pm liao... dinner is served when i finally finish grilling the salmon steak... this is the first time that hubby & i hv dinner at home just by the two of us & eating my home cooked dinner... hehehe

after a few couple of hours preparing, cooking & washing the dishes, one conclusion is : it feels good to cook for your love ones... no matter how much time you spend preparing the meal, it's worth it!

bb Joo Yee

4th march '06 - updated pics of 7 week old bb Joo Yee

my nephew

visited bb nephew at his home... this three day old bb is not easy to take care of... i mean all babies are not easy to be taken care of... you won't know when or why they cry... especially when they cry aloud, all you wish is that they can just "shut up" and sleep... so mean of me huh?

well, of course it's a challenge to take care a new born baby... wait till they grow up and start to run here and there... you will have more headaches as you are afraid that they might hurt themselves....

sigh... it's not easy to be a parent... especially to become first time parents...

* he was asleep when we first arrive *

* then he started to wake up *

* after that, he cried aloud for no reason *

* tried giving him the pacifier*

* the exact reason he cried : HUNGRY "

* change to this feeding bottle since he can suck better *

* by the way, that feeding bottle was once used by his uncle(my dear hubby) on our wedding day, oct 2nd, 2005... hehehe... *

*march 1st, 2006 at 9.23am*

my sis-in-law Siew Fong gave birth to my first nephew Khoo Chung Wei at Sunway Medical Centre... weighing at 3.37kg....he's one cute little boy...

my dear hubby & i automatically be promoted to uncle("kau fu") & auntie("kam moe") status... hehehe...

and my parents-in-law become "grandfather" & "grandmother"... seems like everyone from my hubby's extended family get promoted to another level as well...
