sago honeydew dessert

hubby is at work TODAY... yup... on a SUNDAY..... supposedly SUNDAY is a FAMILY DAY... but just too bad.... he's really so busy with work.... almost everyday he's been working OT...

anyway, this is how I spent my lovely SUNDAY afternoon without my dear hubby: SAGO HONEYDEW DESSERT...

i hv alwiz wanted to try out this simple recipe i found on the net. so, i tried to follow the steps but half way thru, i used my own method & alter the recipe.... hehehe... don't ask me why... coz i oso dunno the reason why. JUST FOLLOW MY HEART onli lor......

INGREDIENTS (should be able to serve for 3-4 persons)

one honeydew (about 1kg)
sago (about 50g)
ready made coconut milk (20ml)
sugar (150g)

STEPS:

  • soak sago for in water for 30 minutes. Drain the water. Put the sago in boling water & cook until all become transparent. Drain the cooked sago with running cold tap water, sieve it and leave it aside

  • cut the honeydew into half, then remove the seeds. The first half, blend it to get honeydew juices and the other half, cut it into small cut of square/cube sizes

  • cook sugar with 300ml water until become syrup

  • mix the cooked sago, honeydew juice & coconut milk into a big bowl. In smaller bowls, combine this mixture with the small cuts of honeydew & add syrup to taste . For a more refreshing dessert, add in some ice cubes as well.....
