year end...(posted on december 4th '05)

just when i think that i have not make much accomplishments this year, it's almost year end now...a few more weeks before Y2006

well, besides getting married this year, i don't think i have accomplish much... i actually need to improve myself in many field namely my work quality, cooking skill, baking skill, sewing skill etc... hehehe...mostly the "house-wifey" thing to do...

i hv been married for two months and how many times have i cook actually? hmm...does chicken potato salad count? i am interested to brush up my cooking skill in the near future...

hopefully when i move to my new home next year, then i will be able to really really improve my cooking skill...i need to be truthful though.....which is until now, i do not know how to "masak nasi"...as in to cook the "rice" itself......b4 i was married, my mum do all the cooking....

and now with me staying with my in-laws, i need not cook as well...how privilege huh??? of course there's pros and cons in me not needed to cook the daily meals..... pros: i no need to rush back home after working to do the cooking & cons: i can't learn much of cooking if i onli cook once a week...

back to the topic of my Y2005 accomplishment, there is one accomplishment which i wanna highlight here..."i must say that i have found many new found friends who were also my colleagues...and though some of them are leaving or have left for better oppurtunity, i will alwiz treasure the friendship that we have and hope that all of us can continue to stay in touch"...

and not forgetting....to my many other friends, ex-schoolmates and ex-classmates and Uni-mates.....

i would like to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR and may all of us have a great life ahead with our love ones....!

DeepaRaya(posted on october 29th '05)

most of us oledi hv plans for this coming long DeepaRaya holidays...but of course only if we(those who r working) take our annual leave...how we miss our school days ya....year end long school holidays without worrying if we have enough annual leave to take...sigh...

i hv plans too for this DeepaRaya Holidays...a trip that i hv lok forward to since early of this year...finally, i get to go for a short holiday again in s'pore..to visit my grandma, shopping and indulge in some nice japanese food/snack at takashimaya, ngee ann city my fav place in s'pore...besides s'pore, we will be spending a night too at Kuantan to visit one of my aunt...hmmm...been more than two years since i last visit Kuantan...

well, it doesn't matter how we spend our holidays...i mean it doesn't matter where u go...when u go....how u go.....how much u spend...but what is most important is who u go with...with the special someone? with family? with close friends? this is what i think matter most...and this time, i'll be joined by my hubby, my parents & my sis...

so, here wishing all of us hv a great holiday ahead ya...

though it's late now but yet i just wanna pen some words...today i had a great time...a belated birthday dinner for me...i am really really happy that most of my good friends were there to celebrate for me..we had porridege steamboat at SS 18, Subang Jaya...

the food was great but most important, the company of my friends...what else can i say? i had a great time...thanks to u guys...jen, william chok, kar-yee, senn, conique, beatrice, stanley, william loo, joanne wong, danette, chak punn, moon(also joanne b & elaine who unfortunately can't join us tonite)...

i might have said it many times...but still, i wanna thanks again for the birthday gift, cake & dinner...!

i'm back...(posted on 0ctober 13th '05)

it's been a while since i last blog...disappearing myself from the internet...not on purpose of course...how time flies when you realised that you hv achieved something that u hv planned or waited for a year...and in my case, getting married...

been sooooo busy lor...preparations for wedding dinner...and finally all that has ended in a good note...it's just a beginning of another good thing...

i am now staying with my hubby and in-laws...so far so good...and i still get to go back to my parents house whenever i want to (since it's just minutes away)... i do miss my own family of course...esp having fights or quarrel with my little sis...

of course life will be very much different now...i can't simply laze around...i am someone's daughter-in-law...this changes are expected...i am well prepared... and i am happy to say that my in-laws do treat me as their own daughter...

thinking about the first time i met my hubby at our section 18 secondary school, that was 14 years back(though we onli "pak thor" for 5 years)... so many things happen, so many changes and so many people that we have met and now we are husband and wife...!

alan will alwiz be my best friend & my good "low kung"...

and my wish is that each and everyone of you will meet THE ONE...someone whom u love and care...and THE ONE who love and care for u the most...

can't think of the title for today's blog...lazy? tired? just that my mind is not working well...so many things happened lately...that is the reason why i have not been blogging for weeks...

firstly, my home PC broke down...no internet connection...no PC to use at all... & my bro was too busy to fix it till yesterday...

secondly, my bro had a car accident near housing area...luckily he was not injured...only my dad's WAJA hv to be repaired for weeks(dunno until when)... imagine my mum's reaction when she first found out that my bro had met with an accident... but my dad being a cool guy(and cool dad), hv everything in control... "it is most important that u are safe and sound... the car's damage is not a matter at all"....

and thirdly, a very sad thing happened last month too. on aug 22nd, 2005(monday), my paternal grandma, CHEONG NUI passed away, aged 83 years old...she died peacefully in her sleep...but not before she was sick for three weeks...

doctors confirmed that she was sick due to old-age...nothing much that we can do but to spend more time with her... the good thing was that she did not need to suffer much during her remaining days... she had her many loved ones beside her 24 hours a day at her own home in Kepong Baru...

her funeral service was held at her house for three days two nites... hundreds of ppl came to pay their last respect... every single one of us(my family, aunts, uncles and cousins) were so sad & all of us shed so much tear on my grandma's demise coz she hv been so close to us...6 sons, 4 daughters, 5 daughters-in-law, 3 sons-in-law, 16 grandchildren, 1 granddaughter-in-law, 2 grandsons-in-law and one great-grandson...

finally, my grandma was buried at Sungei Buloh...a new burial ground... on the way to the burial ground, there is so many nursery with beautiful plants...it reminds us that my grandma loved flowers...what left is memories and the photos that we have took with her...

my grandma loved food. pork noodle, KOPIKO sweet, bak kut teh etc... she is not a big eater but she enjoyed food... and she loved to see us playing mahjong and cards at her house on sundays... and followed by dinner with her...there is just so much sweet memories with her...

many ppl asked me if my wedding is still on...the answer is YES... i am sure my grandma will want me to continue with my actual plan... she hv been looking forward to it too but unfortunately, she can't be with me on that day...

and i must say again, do appreciate your love ones...you will not know when they will leave us...

HAZY DAYS...(posted on august 1th '05)

this has been the most frequent word used these days by us malaysians esp those who are staying at klang valley....

today, for the first time in my life that i have to put on a mask to cover myself from breathing the much polluted air...at first, i was quite reluctant to put on one....but i just can't stand it anymore!!!!

my colleagues & i were like breathing-in those open burning smoke though all of us are seated in the office....it is a big difference whether you are wearing a mask or not...believe me!!!...coz after wearing the mask, i just don't feel like removing it till i reach home...better still if we wear it while driving huh! so, go and get urself one before going outdoor...okie???

for those who still go to work like me, i guess most of us would prefer to hv lunch indoor... which means the sales for all this fast-food and delivery services have increase tremendously these few days...

yesterday at one of the KFC outlet, i actually saw two guys waiting for the KFC staff to pack their take-aways...guess what they brought along? two GIANT trolleys ...they were like ordering 50 packs? so that explain the trolleys...hehehe

besides that, i also saw ppl carrying packets of McD takeaway.....i hv never seen so many ppl "ta pau" so many fast-food at the same time....and i mean really really a lot ah......"ta pau" 30 burgers per person...anyone???

hmm...u might hv hear this many times before....but just wanna to remind each and everyone of us...to drink more water...to put on a mask when outdoor or whenever u smell smoke around...

and for those who smoke cigarette, care to stop lighting any for a while? at least till the haze(or shall i say smoky air) is away...THANK YOU!!!

i really pity those babies, young children & aged ppl...let us all just pray that the haze will go away soon before more people fall ill or more serious things take place...

baby boom(posted on july 28th '05)

yesterday while me & hubby were finalising our wedding invitation cards, i received a very special & happy SMS from my dear friend Christie a.k.a ribena4... she informed me that Sharon a.k.a ribena2 just gave birth to her baby gal...at that moment, i just feel so happy...well, why are there ribena2 and ribena4?

hmmm...there ribena1 is lu ping, our "tai kar cher" and me is ribena3...you see...all four of us ribena was once housemates and coursemates at USM...where did we get this name ribena???

hehehe...it's becoz while we were at USM, all four of us alwiz enjoy drinking ribena...we spent almost three years staying together at USM hostel & our rented apartment...we did so much fun together...cooking our fav "fried lala" dish...oso our famous "ginger chicken soup"...travelling...attending local artists event...chasing our "idol"...etc...

back to this baby boom topic, it seems like now is the season to be pregnant or to give birth...hehehe.....sound like "durian season" huh???

at my working place, i hv about 5 colleagues who will be first time mummy, expecting 2nd child or even the fourth child!besides Sharon, my USM senior Hui Bin will oso give birth this coming october... and then i hv my good friend Hsiu Yea whose bb due early next year 2006...

i just feel so happy for all of them...i mean it's not easy for anyone (not even guys) to carry the bb for almost 9 months before delivering...this minus the one month confinement period as well....during pregnancy there's just so many things to "jaga" coz so many "pantang larang" & foods to avoid (especially pineapple, watermelon etc...)

behind all this, the true feeling of a mum is just un"describeable"...the feeling of holding ur bb in your arms...seeing them take their first step...listening to the first word out from their mouth...seeing them grow up...there is just so much things to look forward to...

so, here i am, congratulating all MUMMY...and future MUMMY...may all of u stay healthy, both mum and bb...!!!mothers' love is the greatest love of all...

TDM's annual dinner 23rd july 2005(posted on july 24th '05)

yesterday was my company's annual dinner at the East*n hotel... i was part of the reception team...things didn't start smoothly...due to some "unforeseen circumstances" the registration of staffs & guests started late & things were a bit out of controlled...

well, there were about 300+ staff waiting for registration at the reception area & we were short of manpower at the earlier stage...so, here i am thinking for my actual wedding dinner in october where i will be expecting about 500 guests, will i face the same problem then?

i know that it's not easy to get everyone register at the same time...hmm...i can only rely on my relatives & good friends to help me out with the registration of guests...

back to the annual dinner at the hotel...at 6.30pm all of us TDM staff punctually entered the ballroom for our dinner to start...the theme for that nite is "ago go rock & roll"...there i was taking my seat at table no.13...and guess what? no drink was served at all. AT ALL! not even chinese tea...

so, i politely ask for a glass of iced plain water from one of the handsome waiter...i ask once, twice, thrice and finally after the fourth time(after more than 15 minutes), only then did i get to be served with a glass of iced plain water... in between, another handsome waiter served us chinese tea but the tea were boiling hot..i can't even take a sip out of it...

next, we asked us for orange juice which was included in our menu...me & my colleagues actually hv to ask for more than 5 times before getting our glass of orange juice..once we got hold of the glass of orange juice, we were disappointed coz it was so sweet and tasted so "powdery"....yucksss! it was later replaced after we saw another waiter with another tray of those juices...this time, it looked & tasted like the real one....

in the end, it seems like we actually requested more than 10 times from the waiters to serve us drinks (chinese tea, iced water, orange juice & beer).... we were like "begging" for water especially before the first dish from the menu is served...

u would not expect any hawker or roadside stalls to give u good sevice...but u would expect some kind of service from one of the hotels like this East*n hotel...

i am really disappointed with their service...the way that they served us food is so slow...even when we left at 12.20a.m., our dessert is not served yet...how many of u guys actually get to eat dessert at a hotel and at midnite???

overall, this year's dinner is a bit disappointing coz most of the nite, we were complaining about the service... sigh...

appreciating love ones(posted on july 11th '05)

with the latest happenings at London, one can only wonder when we will lose our love ones... when was the last time you said I LOVE YOU to ur parents, family, husband/wife, bf/gf , friends etc...?

i grow up(and still growing up) in a "traditional" Chinese family where these three special words I L OVE YOU are rarely spoken/heard...but we know deep in our heart that we(my family and i) care & love each other very much with our daily actions... (dad bring us to enjoy good food once a while, mum preparing home cooked food, brother helping me with PC problems, sister is the one who help me to finish up my food when hubby is not around.... hehehe... and my hubby who is alwiz there for me whenever i feel down and need someone to talk to.....)

it does not take much time or effort for us to show that we care and love them...what is important is that we appreciate every single moment we spent with them... we do not know what will happen tomorrow... but we know that they mean a lot to us....

so, alwiz treasure the one you have...and I LOVE YOU...

07.07.2005(posted on july 7th '05 - obviously)

seven seven...well, my lucky number is seven (7)...it has been my fav number since my primary school days...just don't know why...well, we have 7 days in a week, 7 wonders of the world, rainbow has 7 colours, what else??? for me to have a 7 digit salary perhaps?

hehehe...only in my dreams....and today, the double seven date (07.07) just look & sound so nice ... i just feel happier.....maybe becoz tomorrow is FRIDAY.....hehehe.... and i'm not working this saturday...so, get to spend more time with hubby too...

so, what is ur fav number huh?

my wedding photo session day...(posted on july 1st '05)

july 1st, exactly three (3) months before my wedding day...alan & i had our wedding photo session today...we opted for the "traditional" type....which means studio and outdoor session...the one where we either sit or stand..1, 2, 3, SMILE!

before this actual day, i hv heard many couples' experience about this photo session...TIRING! yup...it'll take one whole day...as for me & alan, our day started at 11.15a.m.....and ended at 7.30p.m.!

hmmm...imagine changing seven (7) different outfits & this means another 7 different make-up & hairstyles to match all that...thanks to our photographer Alan (what a coincidence) and our make-up artist Candy, we managed to go through this whole day without much fuss...not a bad experience after all...i mean not a bad as i had expected...we even had our outdoor session at Taman Rimba, TTDI...a nice and quiet place to visit...but imagine me dressing in my wedding gown & sweating under the hot sun...it was a challenge!!! even alan was not spared coz he hv to wear his coat too!

hehehehe....once in a lifetime experience...for those who is getting married soon or later, when u hv ur wedding photo session, just remember to relax.....

to describe today's experience:-> a tiring but enjoyable wedding photo session...

trip to genting...(posted on june 25th '05)

well, for the past 6 months, i didn't really take any annual leave except half day on Chinese New Year eve, one day for my ROM, half day for some personal matter & yesterday half day for an overnite trip to genting with hubby and another couple of friends(wai hoe & his gf, CK)...

yup...me just back from the trip...what can i say? though it's just a short trip but it's enough that i get to escape from the normal daily life of mine... work...gym..home...sleep...tv...

at genting, me & alan went for dinner at our fav place, New Orleans Barbecue(inside the SHOWBOAT casino)...we ordered our fav dish too....the chicken cajun...they serve the best gravy there...yummy! the restaurant is not too noisy...the environment is romantic too with some fresh cool air when part of the windows are open...

at late night, four of us watched BATMAN BEGINS at genting...unfortunately, a few youngsters that sat at our back row keep on chatting every now and then...there is this particular gal who just can't keep her mouth shut...she even talked on her handphone once...i wish i am brave enough to stand up and ask us to SHUT UP! guess what? none of us did that...sigh...

after the movie, we went for "yum cha" at Coffee B*an...we were there enjoying the cool breeze and chit-chatting till 3.00am!!! there is so much to talk about, we were reminiscing about our good old school days...about friends... about life & about future...i hope that i'll get more chance to hang out with my friends for chit-chats......

i must admit that i hv lost touch with some of my friends...i hope that they'll know that they r still in my heart and i miss all of them so much!!!waking up today at 7.40am(thanks to wai hoe for the morning call) it's something that would not happen on my saturday off days...i mean i won't get up this early..usually i will only be awake by 9am on my off days.......

anyhow, we check-out punctually at 12pm and headed down to Jln Kuchai Lama for some chinese fried noodles, wai hoe brought us to try a delicious fish head noodle bee hoon & claypot "loh shee fan"...

after the meal, me & hubby went to midvalley to buy a long-sleeve shirt for our wedding photo session next friday (yup! need to take one more day of annual leave)...and the other couple, wai hoe & CK headed home straight...my rating for this trip: 7/10

a blur & forgetful peck yee...(posted on june 21st '05)

well, going to gym is part of my preparation for my wedding day...yesterday i skipped once and today i did the same. why??? coz i forgot my exercise shirt...if i were to make my way back home then to the gym, it'll take me another one hour for me to reach there...u knowlah...the daily traffic jam that most of us hv to go through...

this is not the first time that i hv been skipping gym...i either forgot to bring my socks, running shoes, exercise pants and today, my exercise shirt!i've been quite blur and forgetful these few weeks...sometimes i just hv to sit still to think for a while about what i hv just done for the past hour or so...is this the sign of "ageing"???

hehehe...gym is fun...especially the body pump class which is my fav...i try to make myself to go for gym at least thrice a week...it's very refreshing after sweating out at the gym...friends and colleagues find me more "fit" these days...i do agree with them but unfortunately, i am still the same, FAT...hehehe...i didn't lost much weight actually but i am more confident of myself...i do...

SuNdaY(posted on june 18th '05)
