saturday 16/09/06

went out with a few colleagues/friends....

firstly, lunch at McD....... i had the HAPPY MEAL.... hehehe... my current fav meal at McD is grill chicken burger + corn + soya bean

our main objective there was to go for bowling..... unfortunately, all the lanes was fully booked by one company for their staff competition.. the next available lane will be in next two hours..sigh....

so, instead we went to play pool... it was my 2nd time playing pool... first time was in genting..... and each time was when hubby were not in malaysia.... thanks to them that my weekend were filled up!

next, we proceeded to a game of bowling....... just one game since another competition will be held at the same place in another hour's time....... and my overall score was 27.... hehehehe.... got two strikes but the overall score was 27 onli..... u know why lor..... a lot "masuk longkang"...

after that we went to watch the movie "my super EX girlfriend" and ended the day with dinner at KIM GARY.... since it was quite late when we had dinner, i onli ordered this two dishes:

this time tested out the jelly with kiwi & plum. result: kiwi tasted good but not the plum one....

two weeks back while i was shopping alone at sunway pyramid(sob..sob.... hubby not in malaysia lor), i bought this cute little coin purse & handphone pouch at one of the stalls there..... hmmm.... not so suitable for a late twenties "auntie" like me...rite? hehehe

annual trip - kuantan 2006 (31st aug - 2nd sept)

i joined my company's annual trip & annual dinner... this year round, we were off to Kuantan... we stayed 3 days & 2 nites at Swiss Garden Resort & Spa, Kuantan

• accomodation : good, clean & spacious room
• food : limited variety, not so tasty
• beach: clean & clear water(can even see the small fishes swimming around the beach side)
• facilities : not bad... they have spa & massage ... cycling... water sports... swimming pool.... recreational facilities(tennis courts, gym, pool etc...)

* me with my "adopted" kids at the hotel's children playground... hehehe *

while hubby away for business trip...

• i get to alternate between my my family home & my in-law's home... mon-thurs nite (mum's place) & fri-sun nite(in-laws' place)...
• i get to sleep extra 20 minutes every weekday as i no need to spend time waking up dear hubby from his sleep...
• i need not nag dear hubby everyday to get him bath earlier....
• i need not nag dear hubby to spend less time on his PC games / PS2
• no one to bug me to make more konnyaku jelly
• no one listen to my complaint of work...

in conclusion, i miss my dear hubby so much... can't wait for him to come back from Japan... countdown to another 15 days before he returns..

CSE: Let me check it out for you, Ms X. Would you mind to provide us the serial no. of the fax machine please?
Ms X: What serial no.? How many times I need to check it huh???

CSE: I am sorry, Ms X. If you can read the serial no. to me, then immediately I'll be able to check if our technician is on his way to your company.
Ms X: You wait ah.

(after half a minute...)

Ms X: OK. The serial no. of the fax machine is 123, model: XXX

CSE: I'm sorry Ms X. But you need to call XXX company to check the status of the service as we only deal with YYY model.
Ms X: Oops. OK-lor.(then put down the phone without apologizing that she got the wrong service company for their fax machine).

moral of the story: get your facts correctly before you call up anyone to complain!

as per hubby's request to eat his fav jelly before he leaves for japan tomorrow, i make the most simple & basic konnyaku jelly which is plain konnyaku jelly with nata de coco... as usual, the result: YUMMY! (what else???)....

another trip to japan...

not me...( i wish that it's me!)..... but it's my hubby minus me... tomorrow morning he'll be leaving to japan again... this time will be four(4) whole weeks! sien! sien! sien!

hmmm... work is work... can't say NO... good oppurtunity for him since he get to travel and see the world... but to hubby, he wish that he need not to go there again... it's the same place... UTSUNOMIYA(click on the link to know more about this rarely known place in japan)....

and the weather this time around is hot... SUPER HOT.... it's SUMMER TIME....

of course i remember you, joyce...... you will alwiz be in my heart lor....

but just that when i was blogging that time, i was really really sleepy! so, my mind was not working well.... hehehehe

fruitty jelly * this is the usual konnyaku jelly powder that i bought to make the variety of jelly *

i onli drink kopi-O(means coffee without milk for me, pls)......... but last week, i experimented with coffee flavoured jelly.......why coffee flavour? dunno-leh.... just for fun.... as it turned out, the jelly was bitter... as in very BITTER... hehehehe.... too kiasu of me to put in coffee powder the size of a yogurt cup... hubby did not eat even a piece coz he's not a coffee lover too.....

comments from most friends/my mum: wow! very bitter ah
comments from a few friends(mainly coffee lovers): not bad. coffee sure BITTER one. else, it's not coffee. hehehe...

and today, i tried out jelly with red dragon fruit for my dear hubby(since he didn't get to eat any jelly last week... poor him coz jelly is his fav).... the result: nice colour(dunno why it became purple colour, supposedly red rite? & it's not too sweet.....

my MIL said next time can try to blend the fruit to make juices and mix with the jelly instead of using cut fruits... see how next time....

SP Setia Night of the Stars
july 29th '06(saturday)... me, my mother, MIL & FIL attended this little concert organised by our house developer held at the Taman Rekreasi, Setia Alam.... actually, my two aunties(Mui & Cheng) & cousin brother Wai Wai went for the concert too but we were seated away... and there were tens of thousands of ppl who attended the concert too...

the programme started late... the first singer was Victor Wong... his performance is so so onli coz he sang his new songs. i still prefer the songs that he sang when he was in the duo, Michael & Victor.....

the major star of the nite was Emil Chau.... he sang mostly his old hits song which was very well recognized by almost everyone who attended the concert.... the atmosphere change from dull to fun once this great singer came onto stage and did a duet with Victor Wong..... though i can't really understand Mandarin but Emil Chau is entertaining coz he really knows how to interact with the crowd.....

the nite ended with fireworks display for about 5 minutes.... it was a fun nite!

bb chung wei

time to update u guys on how my cute little nephew looks like... * picture taken on 11th july '06(about 4 months old). for the past couple of months, this poor bb will grab anything that reach his hand and put it into his small little mouth(including his own fist). reason: itchy teeth gum. yup! doc said his teeth is already growing inside his gum *

season of FLU

many many ppl in my office is either coughing, sneezing or sore throat...... it's the season for the virus to spread.... and this time it can spread easily since this "ppl" is coughing a lot...as in A LOT....

i mean i do pity them but hey! if they still come into office while they are still "virus infected", i would suggest to them it's better for them to get MC and rest at home... no point to spread it around in the office and caused everyone else to fall sick...rite?

but thanks to green tea, i am still "healthy"... hopefully it will help to build up my body immune.. at least enuf to fight off those "flu viruses"..... so, guys...... time to stock-in green tea & include it in your daily diet... it helps ya....

dinner no.2

last saturday, i had the oppurtunity to cook for hubby & my in-laws again... for the second time... the menu is almost the same as the first time except that this time, i increased the cooking difficulty... what i mean is that this 2nd time, i actually cut chicken..... as in i had to cut the chicken thigh into smaller cuts... it is really really "susah" to cut the chicken thigh... i had to chop it so many times and there were times when after chopping it, i still hv to use the scissors to cut it off....

menu:

fried egg with tomato
stir-fry cabbage with dried shrimps
pan fried chicken(marinated with black soya sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, abalone sauce & sugar)

the result:

egg not so tasty according to hubby coz the tomato is not soft enough
vege quite tasty according to hubby & in-laws(of course lah coz i put in a lot of dried shrimps)
chicken oklor... got taste oso... just that the chicken cut sizes vary(small, big, bigger.... hehehe)

Movie with hubby

It’s very rare that hubby & I will watch movie at cinema on a WEEKDAY… and yup! We did that yesterday when we went to SUMMIT, Subang & watched the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 2– Dead Man’s Chest….

Why on a Wednesday to watch movie? Cheaper mah….. movie ticket only RM 6 per person… plus no time to go shopping(so, no need to spend so much)….. parking oso cheaper… hehehe….

Hmmm… after getting married, it’s fun to go “pak thor” again once in a while… it is a different feeling compare to dating time…. So, to you guys out there(whether married or going to get married soon)….. remember to invite your spouse / spouse to be for a movie date ya…. Don’t care what day it is….ok? and to those singles, get a gang of good friends and go for a movie date too!

Back to the movie, it was entertaining to watch Captain Jack Sparrow again… we had a great laugh especially watching him & his gang escaping from those tribes…. I mean, Johnny Depp is really funny with his actions… he no need to do stunts or a lot of action to make the movie interesting……. i just love the way he acted out as Captain Jack Sparrow……. The so call captain of the BLACK PEARL ship…..

yummy MILO jelly

i tested out this jelly recipe last weekend when i was suddenly in the mood to make two packets of jelly.... one pack was the normal sunkist orange flavour and guess what? as for the other pack, i tried the MILO flavour.... the comment from hubby/ "ji mui" was NOT BAD... quite delicous actually but will taste better without puting in the NATA DE COCO....

for the very first time in my life that i actually cook rice as in "masak nasi"... and this include a very very simple dinner.... mind you but b4 i got married, i actually hv the privillege to have my mum cook each meal for our family(and i still get to taste her cooking at least once a week)

how come i cook dinner that day??? actually my MIL was not feeling well last few days, i helped out to prepare dinner on Tuesday nite...

the menu was:

fried egg with big onion
steam vegetables with oyster sauce
steam tauhu with fried onion
canned "fish"

ya... it was a not so balance meal... and the rice was a bit dry... but yet, all the food was cleared up... MIL said a simple meal is enough and no need to cook those very skillful dish yet e.g. stir-fry vege, chicken steam with mushrooms etc....

which means, when we move to the new house, i'll get to learn how to cook from my MIL... she is actually looking forward to teach me her super delicious "chilli chicken" recipe.....

and i myself are looking forward to learn some cooking skills from MIL since i know that my hubby would want me to hv some "wifey" skill to cook for him.....

the day will come when i will conquer the kitchen.... hehehe...

penang trip

* after trying so many times to upload the photos, i finally managed to, with the tips from shanny)

last saturday(08/07/06), in two cars, 7 of us(me, joanne, Cynthia, Moon, yvonne, william & steven) left for a short trip to penang(one of my fav city- becoz of food lor)..... besides that, penang means a lot to me as i had spent three years uni-life at USM..... i miss the place so muchhhhh.........

we first arrived at Bidor for a late breakfast... where else to go to if not the famous Pun Chun restaurant for it's yummy duck thigh noodle.... it was my 3rd visit to this restaurant... we oso bought some of the famous snacks there(chicken biscuit & "sak keh mah")....

we then arrived at Penang about 1.30pm.... check-in to our spacious two bedrooms service apartment at Vistana Hotel, Bukit Jambul.... with the guidance from one of our Penang colleague, Elisha, we had late lunch at Penang Road.... the famous ABC cendol & assam laksa.....
after that, the 7 of us drove to Ferringhi Beach and then had an early dinner at the temporarily shifted, Gurney Drive.....

the next day, we had a sumptious breakfast at Taman Pekaka, near our apartment...just like our previous trips(refer to the earlier posts, either to melaka or genting), we had "DIM SUM"....... but this time, it is self-service..... we just love the egg tarts that they served there!we then headed to bukit bendera, kek lok si & a couple of temples before stopping by for a late lunch at Macalister Road for the famous SISTERS "char kuey teow"... at a nearby stall, we oso bought a couple of durians & smuggled into our apartment... hehehe
at nite, it was the WORLD CUP FINALS celebration at Upper Penang Road.... the place is happening... with HOTLINK being the major sponsor for the nite, there were many activities around..... unfortunately, it was too noisy... in the end, we watched the WC FINALS in our apartment.....
the last day in Penang, we went for breakfast at mamak..... we then visited our Penang branch office at the Northam Tower....

on our way back to KL, we managed to stop by at our Ipoh branch office and had a really really late lunch...... and this time, we found this special fruit cocktail drink(made from dragon fruit juice with a mixture of mango, water melon, longan, kiwi etc...)
my comment for this trip: it's FOOD, FOOD & FOOD at penang.... and FUN!

unlucky 30.06.2006

i was driving home on friday.... almost home coz i can actually see my hubby waiting for me in his car at our apartment parking lots.....

it was 6.55pm.....i was driving at the sharp bend when a STUPID DUMMY BUS(a blue factory bus) speeded towards me & at the sharp corner, this STUPID DUMMY BUS went into my lane and hit the right side of my car... luckily the STUPID DUMMY BUS brake and stopped moving or else he will be dragging my car along with me inside the car....

i straight away called hubby on the mobile and later my dad..... at first i just dunno what to do until dad asked me to get out of the car first.... i was like how to get out of the car now? i can't opened up my door car... ooops.... no logical thinking at that time.... i then hv to climb out from the front passenger door.....hubby was with me in minutes... the bus driver came down & straight away put the blame on me driving fast at the corner and he was on the right lane! HELLO??? i was turning around the corner when the STUPID DUMMY BUS speeded and drove into my lane.....

i don't care at all what the STUPID BUS DRIVER said to hubby... i just took many many photos of the STUPID DUMMY BUS and the STUPID BUS DRIVER...

it was a long story after that... i lodged a report against the STUPID DUMMY BUS & DRIVER on the same day...... and now, my poor car is in the workshop.....

i am glad that i escaped unhurt or else i just can't imagine if the STUPID DUMMY BUS did not stop his STUPID DUMMY BUS after hitting my car......

busy busy june

most of last month's weekends was spent dining with family & friends....

first, it was father's day lunch at the Dragon-i, Midvalley....

followed by kar-yee & william loo's b'day dinner at ZEN, Sunway Pyramid(we first planned for a BBQ, somehow it turned out to be a japanese dinner... so the different rite?)...

then it's 21st b'day party for little Yvonne at her home.....

and finally, a farewell dinner for one of my lovely & cute temporary staff, Cui Ling at the Little Taiwan, SS15 Subang....

in conclusion, it was a weight gaining month... hehehe...

sick...

as i am typing & uploading a couple of posts for my blog.... i feel slightly ill now! i should be resting rite?

i actually started to feel sick since saturday nite... sob...sob... and yesterday nite was worse.... coughing the whole nite... took a spoon of "pei pa ko"... fee l much better and then luckily, my hubby let me hv a piriton pill when i started to sneeze... which means i got to sleep well until the alarm clock rrriiiiiiinnnnnnngggggg!

thought of taking MC.... feel lazy too... hehehe........ but in the end, just dunno why... went to work as usual... whole day at office feel much better but tired....

thought after work wanna make potato salad for my "ji mui" & my mum.... but my mum-in-law said no cold food for me... means also no spicy/fried food for me until i am 100% feeling well...

and now, itchy throat is back...coughing every now & then... and seems like i hv nose blocked too... sigh.... hubby is away to penang for two days one nite business trip.... sob...sob....

realised that i hv not took any MC this year(since drinking green tea 5 days a week during office hour)...... and suddenly now with this flu, a bit "sien"... what i hate most is coughing & running nose.... "mah fun"....

looking forward for hubby to come home tomorrow... at least someone can pass me the tissue box when i needed it... hehehe

those were the days...

my hubby & i usually hang out together with the same group of friends(namely the YEOHs, WH, JY, KS & BG)...

during uni/college days and the few years after graduating, where else do we hang out but the fav MAMAK? dunno why we are not into Coffee Bean etc.... maybe becoz we just don't hv the $$$..... hehehe

but these days, or shall i say after the latest addition to our group of bb YEOH JOO YEE, we usually gather at the YEOHs home... u know-lah.... bb not supposed to be out late at nite... got to sleep early(though they don't really sleep on time)....

hmmm.... it was fun meeting up with them again yesterday.. at least i get to see bb joo yee after a couple of months... and wow! she has grown up beautifully.... check this out!

bandar setia alam

yesterday was spent with hubby & in-laws at our newly handover house at bandar setia alam... we got the keys earlier but due to hubby was away to japan, only yesterday do we get to check the house for defects... and this is the view from my master bedroom windows(what view? no mountain.. no sea.... just a row of houses lor... hehehe)
